Nickel carbonate
Nickel carbonate
Nickel carbonate

Chinese name: nickel carbonate

English name: Nickel Carbonate

Molecular formula: NiCO3

Properties: light green crystals of orthorhombic square. Decomposes above 300℃. Soluble in ammonia and dilute acid. not soluble in water. It is prepared by the reaction of alkali metal carbonate and nickel sulfate. Used for electroplating, ceramic coloring and glaze, etc.

1. Prepare an aqueous solution of NaHCO3 saturated with CO2, add it to the flask containing the aqueous solution of NiCl2 or Ni(NO3)2, and close the stopper to prevent the escape of CO2 and keep the solution at a low temperature. Filter the formed precipitate and wash it, paying attention to it all at low temperature, and obtain NiCO3 product after drying. The product obtained by this method is not pure, and it will contain some sodium salt.

2. Electrolyze carbonated water (ie, saturated aqueous solution of CO2) with nickel electrodes. Cover the electrolytic cell with a cover made of insulating material, and hang three nickel plates on the cover, two of which are placed at both ends of the cell (cathode), and the other is placed at the center (anode), and pure The water is 2.5cm away from the upper edge of the tank, and pure carbon dioxide gas is introduced. The outside of the tank is cooled by running water. A current of 2 to 2.2A is passed between the two poles to generate nickel carbonate hexahydrate, which is deposited on the bottom of the tank, and the precipitate is filtered. Dry at 100°C to obtain nickel carbonate.

3. Add the heated nickel chloride solution to the boiling excess sodium carbonate solution, and react: the precipitated precipitate is filtered, washed with hot water until the Cl- ion content is qualified, and shaken dry at no more than 40°C Dry, then wash with hot water until the Cl- ion content is acceptable, spin dry, and dry at 25-30°C. Basic use

Used in catalysts, electroplating, ceramics and other industries. [2]

Efficient drying technology

Traditional drying nickel carbonate technology generally uses hot air drying technology, but its drying cycle is long and energy consumption is large, which greatly affects the expansion requirements of modern production. The microwave drying process is used to dry nickel carbonate, which is an overall drying, which realizes the effect of material molecules. The instant rapid low-temperature drying of the attached moisture breaks the bottleneck of the conventional drying process. Its characteristics are: [3]

●Microwave drying nickel carbonate can achieve the purpose of microwave drying in a few minutes

●Microwave drying of nickel carbonate is uniform and the product quality is good;

●Microwave drying nickel carbonate process is safe, energy-saving and environmentally friendly. It uses electric energy, and it is dried at the same time inside and outside, which saves more than 50% energy than electric heating;

●Short the production cycle, greatly reducing the occupation of production working capital;

●The temperature of the microwave drying equipment cabinet is below 40℃ to improve the working environment of workers;
